Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Savannah, GA

Description

VSS Logistics is a Savannah based military and defense support contractor. We are tasked with supplying a broad range of commercial items, personnel, services, and customer specific kitting requirements. Our supplier product mix is predominantly maintenance, repair, and operation equipment used by the US military.  VSS has an immediate need for an Strategic Sourcing Specialist.

Strategic Sourcing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Interact with the customers predominantly via email and telephone
  • Receives requests from customers, identifies potential suppliers and negotiates pricing
  • Complete process management and responsibility from receipt of customer request to invoicing of customer:

(Order entry, order follow-up, order expediting, shipment tracking, etc.)

  • Ability to answer customer questions and resolve customer issues
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to drives sales growth by engaging in actions that identify further selling opportunities
  • Receive customer requests for staffing solutions, phone interview potential candidates, manage small labor force of temporary employees working at customer site

Requirements:

  • Competent with computers, particularly MS Outlook. MS Excel would be a plus.
  • Willingness to take personal responsibility and leadership on projects
  • Desire to grow with company and assume larger responsibilities
  • Excellent attention to detail, dependability, strong phone presence, negotiation skills, and self-motivation are critical.
  • Strong written communication via email

Government Account Representative - National

Description

Veteran Sales & Service is a military and federal government contractor looking for a self-starter who has a desire to help the military fulfill their mission. The position entails working within a smaller, flexible company that provides diverse industrial and commercial products as well as service solutions to the military and defense contractors. This position is a full-time salaried position plus commissions, with the possibility of advancement and excellent benefits. Daily activity will include travel to area military bases, corresponding with contractors, and working directly with military at facility maintenance supply offices, motor pools, and aircraft maintenance squadrons. The qualified candidate would need to utilize needs development selling skills to help these customers complete their mission.

  • Required to have at least 3 years of prior sales experience
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to explore and comprehend customer’s requirements and identify solutions
  • Able to operate independently. This position will require working from your home office with some overnight travel

WAREHOUSE SUPPORT SPECIALIST (Level I) | Clearfield, UT | Warner Robins, GA | Oklahoma City, OK

WAREHOUSE SUPPORT SPECIALIST (Level I)
VSS Logistics is seeking motivated, qualified entry-level individuals for the position of Warehouse Support Specialist I.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Pick material from warehouse locations; assemble kits per List of Material (LOM) with quality/accuracy
  • Confirm transactions performed in inventory system
  • Receive packages and breakdown of material
  • Accurately perform required daily cycle counts of warehouse locations; entering the counts into an inventory system
  • Assist inventory supervisor/team with shelf-life audits/tasks (First in – First out method);
  • Pick material for customer orders and affix proper labeling to packaging;
  • Other inventory tasks, as required, to ensure all areas meet daily metrics. These tasks may include assisting in various warehouse areas.
  • Perform general bin maintenance
  • Other Level 1 warehouse duties, as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work the required 40-hour per week shift
  • Previous experience with computers/data skills is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required (Word, Excel)
  • Must take pride in work performance and have keen attention to detail
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • One-year experience in warehousing, inventory control, quality, manufacturing and/or material handling is required
  • Goal-oriented with ability to meet the daily, weekly or monthly metrics for the tasks assigned
  • Be responsible and accountable for job performance and accuracy
  • Model personal and professional integrity
  • Foster a diverse, team environment
  • High School diploma required
  • Ability to meet contractor-required background check
